Therefore, success in changing the status quo lies in making it too painful to continue.

Which leads to the questions: How can we, the oppressed masses, do that? What agency do we have?

I wish I believed that the worst of the social unrest was behind us. I don’t. Given the deeply unfair actions of the Federal Reserve and the total lack of any pushback from the media, I anticipate growing social unrest for many years to come.

Which means it’s time for you to more seriously consider your approach to personal security, especially if you live in or near a city. I certainly am.

Fourth turnings are characterized by a growing demand for social order, yet supply of it remains weak. The emergence of the surveillance state, a perpetual war machine, increased intervention in failing markets by the central planners, greater government control of critical systems like health care and the Internet — all of these are classic fourth turning signs of the desperation authorities exert as they lose control.

History shows time and time again that such overreach ends in rejection of the current order, usually via violent revolution.

SARS-COV-2 has two distinct types (S-Cov and L-Cov) circulating which may explain why some areas are being hit harder than others.
India’s cases have jumped straight through a handful of cases to a small cluster (for a total of 28 cases).  In response to this and to the loss of precursor chemical from China, India immediately banned the export of 26 important pharmaceutical products including paracetamol (acetaminophen), and clindamycin (a very useful and popular antibiotic).

Well, stocks are back at all-time highs. Ignited by the Fed’s “Not-QE” program and endless Trump administration teases of an “imminent” China deal, the S&P 500 has been propelled above its upward Bollinger band — a hyperextension only seen one other time since 2007.

Every week since Not-QE was announced has seen the S&P close green (this week finally ending the streak, barely). We’re officially in a melt-up, where both good news and bad news are accepted as valid reasons to push stocks even higher.

But what’s notable about this melt-up is that it’s missing a compelling narrative. Every past asset price mania required a feel-good mantra that convinced the masses “This time is different!”.

But today? What’s the radically better future being promised? Where’s the party train headed to?
