On Friday, we finally got our SPX bounce. Do we buy the dips, or sell the rallies? It depends on what we think the longer trend might be. “Doctor Copper” is not yet hinting at a recession – then again, these clues from Doctor Copper (according to the “2008 case study” #2) can take several months before copper & SPX get tightly linked. This stuff is complicated. We are still early days in the “recession”/correction. The cows are (being told to) “buy the dip”, at least according to (Nudge) Google trends below. Are we supposed to follow the herd? They are “right about the trends, but wrong at both ends.”
Consumer Economy
Producer Prices (PPIACO); 259.7 +2.52 (+0.97% m/m); 11.6% annualized.
CPI All Urban (CPIAUCSL); +0.22% m/m; 2.64% annualized.
Consumer Sentiment; 57.9 [neutral=100]
There was another decline in consumer sentiment this month; although Pfizer/Reuters has the usual “Trump=Hitler” take, the drop in overall sentiment is in line with Ed Dowd’s prediction of a recession due to stopping the “Biden”(Handler)-era autopen-flation, much of which were massive money flows – our tax dollars to migrants via NGOs – about $50-100k per migrant, according to Ed. I’m just guessing most of the fraud was pocketed by the “overpaid” intermediaries – not the migrants.
US consumer sentiment plunges on tariff fears, inflation expectations jump [Mar 14] (source – pfizer/reuters);
While there were fits and starts in the inflation picture, my favorites hardly moved: “vaxxident” insurance: +0.3% m/m, and “vaxxident” repair: +0.3% m/m. I’d expect repair to lead, and insurance to lag. “Kill the Chickens!” (to Eliminate the Eggs) inflation was a big 10.4% this month. Hopefully it will fall next month, now that the Feds aren’t being so “accidentally” stupid with farm policy. Rumor on “X” is suggesting a big drop in egg-flation.
