The Ukrainian Ambassador’s reaction at the time tells the whole story:
Zelensky probably got the wrong impression from his earlier meeting that day with warmonger democrats and RINOs who predictably fawned over Zelensky and gave him the wrong impression that he held some cards he could play with Trump.
He did not have any cards after all.
The social media space immediately turned the entire interaction into an international Rorschach test. Some saw Zelensky as being an ungrateful, insolent little creep and others somehow saw Trump as the bad guy.
I say that as someone who is always in every case antiwar. I really don’t get the pro war folks pecking away on their ergonomic keyboards from the safety of their cushy homes and cushier lives, always in favor of other people dying while spending other people’s money.
As you know, I have a deep and complex understanding of the conflict that stretches back well over a decade.
Bernie Sanders seems to have flipped open brochure on the subject:
What exactly is this ‘democracy’ that Bernie speaks of?
