What High Net Worth Investors Are Thinking

Here’s an update from the front lines.  Thanks to your continued support, Adam and I are able to carry the Peak Prosperity message out to an ever-increasing audience of both size and influence.

One of the recent trends has been to present at wealth conferences, where an assortment of big money managers converge to share ideas, shake hands with old friends and meet new people.

I’m just leaving the Opal Wealth Conference recently held at Laguna Beach CA, where the topic was “alternative investments.”

Well, if there was ever a person with an ‘alternative view’ that would be yours truly.  I presented a 30-minute version of the Crash Course, wrapped around four key facts.

• #1 Exponential Growth
• #2 All money is loaned into existence (leading to Exponential Money)
• #3 The economy depends on energy, not the other way around
• #4 Without endless growth our money system breaks down

I ended by teeing up a few questions for people to chew on, as I have very few easy answers to most of the predicaments I present.

Those questions were:

• #1 What are stocks and bonds worth, relative to today, if our future assumption of growth is zero?
• #2 What investments make sense in a world with very high levels of debt and low growth?
• #3 What happens when/if the next energy transition does not happen as smoothly as those in the past (or as most are merrily assuming)?

Now a number of people said they were really inspired and impressed by the ideas I presented. Others merely characterized it as “depressing.”  That’s par for the course and always has been. Not everybody is (or maybe ever will be) ready to face the emotional challenges of facing reality as it exists.

I would say it’s fair to state that I turned a few heads and made a few important impressions.  It’s also fair to say that nobody else in the world right now is wading into high net worth venues and saying the sorts of things I'm saying.  Again, I'm blessed by your support to be able to bring this message, at this time, to these people.

Now, I'm also highly motivated to bring this message to everyone, not just the high net worth folks.
