I’ve been diving deep into some troubling issues lately, not least of which is the apparent lack of humanity from some people in positions of power. We started off discussing a rather disturbing development in CA where Democrats are blocking laws aimed at protecting minors from being sex trafficked. It’s another reminder of how far we’ve strayed from protecting the most vulnerable in our society. This isn’t just about politics; it’s about the moral fabric of our community being torn apart.
We also touched on the broader implications of these societal shifts. There’s a palpable sense of despair when you see leaders and lawmakers not standing up for what’s right, especially when it comes to the protection of children. It’s a sign of deeper systemic issues, where the focus seems to be on everything but the well-being of our citizens.
On a more personal note, I’ve decided to run for the select board in our town. It’s a small step, but I believe in the power of local action. Our community needs transparency, smarter tools, and a vision for the future. We’re talking about basic infrastructure like our one-lane bridge, exploring sustainable energy like hydropower, and fostering community engagement. It’s about bringing back that sense of community and purpose that seems to have been lost.
And speaking of community, Evie and I are working hard on our farm, Honey Badger Farms. We’re not just growing food; we’re cultivating resilience. We’ve got new additions to our farm family, like our baby Cabota, and we’re expanding our operations with a milking room for our cows.
