NPR On The Hot Seat
Remember this lady? I posted this clip last year sometime as it really stood out as noteworthy. In it, the CEO of NPR was channeling the full deviance of the censorship wave and said something truly astonishing for anybody to say, let alone the head of an ostensible news agency:
Katherine Maher (NPR CEO): “I think our reverence for the truth might have become a bit of a distraction that is preventing us from finding consensus and getting important things done.”A news outlet should care about truth.Time to Defund. pic.twitter.com/nCfDcyPJjf

It raises all sorts of related questions about whose “truth” she’s referring to (I think we al know), and what “important things” that need to get done so badly that the truth should be swept aside (again, I think we all know), and whether not no all of this ties into this our” democracy nonsense.
Well, now she’s in the hot seat.
This exchange with Rep. Fallon is truly astonishing:
REP FALLON: "In 2020, NPR branded Hunter Biden's laptop story a 'waste of time.' Do you know how many times NPR interviewed Adam Schiff about the Russia Collusion hoax?"NPR CEO: "Idk."REP FALLON: "25 times. How many times did NPR interview Chairman Comer about the Biden… pic.twitter.com/EoOGHAZrPW

He came armed with facts, and she squirmed with fake ignorance about all the data he was flinging about.
Shocked! Shocked was she to discover that her newsroom consisted of 87 registered democrats and zero republicans!
And here she got hoisted by her own Tweets:
NPR CEO Katherine Maher was completely caught off guard today after Rep. Brandon Gill started reading her past tweets to her one by one.Absolutely brutal. Gill: Do you believe that America is addicted to white supremacy?Maher: I believe that I tweeted that. I believe much… pic.twitter.com/TfBt0h1qDF

Christopher Rufo captured the underlying dynamic well back in 2024, I thought:
"The new CEO of NPR is part of a rising cohort of affluent, left-wing, female managers who dominate HR and DEI. They are the matriarchs of the American Longhouse: they value safety over liberty, censorship over debate, and relativism over truth."https://t.co/wnLyhtAxi0 pic.twitter.com/luYKFBt3gc

All of that leading to these concluding remarks and tweets:
⚠️CLOSING STATEMENT⚠️After listening to what we've heard today, we will be calling for the complete and total defund and dismantling of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting.NPR & PBS can hate us on their own dime. It’s time American taxpayers stop footing the bill. pic.twitter.com/2OfjGzmNlF

Yes sir, Mr. President! We will defund NPR and PBS!!The American people will NOT pay for disgusting Democrat propaganda anymore!! pic.twitter.com/vD776ZEUl3

I’ll go further and suggest that not only should NPR and PBS be defunded but the free use of public airwaves should be denied to any broadcast outfit that cannot manage to stick to the facts.
If your business model supports people wanting to buy your spewage, then you can rent the airwaves.
