Good morning, everyone.  It’s Monday.  Welcome to day 141 of the Iran war.  Truthfully, this is wearing me down.  Nothing ever seems to fully escalate or retreat.  It’s groundhog week #20 of this affair.  Still, I have the sense that this could all really spiral out of control at any moment, so I continue to pay very close attention.

A Weekend of Attacks

There were so many strikes and counterstrikes that it would be quite lengthy to catalogue them all here.  As of this morning, the US had attacked:

  • Konarak,
  • Chabahar,
  • Gordim,
  • Boo Musa Island,
  • Jask port,
  • Sirik,
  • Hajiabad,
  • Bushehr,
  • Bandar Imam Khomeini,
  • Chegeni,
  • Khormoj,
  • Azadegan,
  • Urmia vicinity

Perhaps the most egregious target selected and struck by the US was Iran’s only self-made nuclear plant that was under construction:

Iran attacked:

  • Kuwait
  • Jordan
  • Bahrain
  • Saudi Arabia

Notably, Iran really put the hurt on several Jordanian US airbases, killing two US servicemen and a servicewoman, and injuring a much larger number (as yet unconfirmed).

Iran claims it wounded and killed many more than CENTCOM is currently admitting.  Who knows?  I take all claims with giant grains of salt from both sides:

But the NYTimes agrees:

Given the satellite images that came out this morning, I would expect the casualty count to be far higher than currently admitted by CENTCOM.

Jordan claimed to have successfully intercepted all the missiles fired at the Aqaba base.  The videos say otherwise:

How bad are things
