Happy Friday, everyone!  I have the feeling that once the “”markets”” close this afternoon, more bombings and other non-ceasefirey things will happen.


The Attacks on Russian Energy Increase

Ukraine has really dialed up the warfare against Russian energy assets.  In any other moment in time, there would be some form of concern about the environmental damage alone, but we are living in very strange times.

30 Russian tankers are now burning in the Sea of Azov:

Don’t look now, but Moscow’s main refinery is back on fire again (not sure if due to prior damage or represents a new attack):

All in all, this is a MASSIVE blow to both Russian and global supplies of refined fuels:


The Fuel Crisis That’s Already Here

The headlines are always about the paper price of oil.  Somehow, and for some mysterious reason, and no matter how bad the news coming out of the Persian Gulf, oil gets sold all night, every night.

The U.S. says, no damage!

With the news flow, $72 a barrel is an insult to all thinking persons.

But oil is one thing, and the refined products derived from oil are another.  On that front, we see something entirely different.

Diesel is what moves the world.  Russia was a significant exporter
