Happy Monday! It’s time for another Fat Pipe.
Data Center Pushback!
You know why someone tried to sneak through a federal ban on state control and/or oversight into data center construction? Because it didn’t take people long to figure out that data centers are generally very bad for their local communities.

Luckily that provision failed in the Senate, where it was stripped out with a 99-1 vote after massive pushback on social media platforms.
But now, in community after community, people are effectively rallying to prevent data centers from being built, noting such obvious things as the impacts to their electricity supplies and prices and fresh water use.
Virginia fights back and wins:
A Georgia community votes no:
Tucson residents stop a data center:
Memphis residents regretting the xAI data center’s on-site gas turbines:
Indiana stops a data center:
WV residents woke up to discover their state legislature shoved a data center down their throats:
Missouri residents are being similarly blocked from voting on a data center proposal:
Also in Tucson, residents a bit outraged and shocked to discover a META data center team member now sits on their local council:
Revelation Fatigue
Nobody of any importance at all has even been charged with anything, let alone been arrested or gone to jail.
