Everything is Fake and Gay
I’ve turned to this saying a lot over the past few months because it just somehow captures what I’m thinking and feeling, without even being very descriptive. It conveys a situation where the premise is obviously false, and having to pretend it isn’t is just ridiculous.
Every time I dig into something, even slightly, I discover that it’s basically a grift or a scam that’s so embedded and so institutionalized that nothing ever happens when it gets uncovered.
Here are but a few of the recent fake and gay items I’ve come across.
Somali Scandal Edition
So, it turns out that Somali groups, principally located in Minnesota, may have stolen up to $8 billion (with a “b”) from state and federal taxpayers.
As you contemplate your $600 Venmo reporting limit, also think about how this is even possible without state-level sanctioning.
Tim Walz swaps out his state’s traditional flag for the new one that they ‘designed’ probably at great expense involving many consultants who all magically work for the ruling party.
You have to admit it’s kind of weird how much Minnesota’s new flag looks like Somalia’s, no?
As you ponder the magnitude of these grifts, you’ll begin to realize that they operate in plain sight, as sanctioned activities by (illegitimate) state-level institutions.
