It’s important that we embolden each other and be the source of support in these crazy times. Not only is there nothing wrong with “preaching to the choir” but it’s essential that we do.
Let’s be honest; too many people have lost their minds. They’ve fallen into deeply illogical territory from which they may never recover in this lifetime.
Whether it’s the Holy Shots, combating racism and genderism by saying white men are irrevocably toxic, or demanding that we shut down oil exploration before their alt-energy dreams are even remotely plausible, it’s clear their ideology is not well rooted in reality.
Perhaps that’s too kind. “They” will take us all to ruin unless we stop them. They don’t seem to grasp basic reality at all. One cannot combat racism by being racist. One cannot create a better world by dismantling the engines of prosperity. One cannot be safe in life by shouting down people who might have a different point of view.
In brief, we cannot negotiate with people who aren’t interested in negotiation, but instead want our complete loyalty to their ungrounded and ever-changing, fickle ideology. They demand the impossible.
