China urged its banks to reduce exposure to US Treasuries, according to Bloomberg News reports. The guidance reportedly targets commercial bank holdings excluding state reserves, as part of ongoing diversification efforts.
Epstein Files
Elon Musk offered to pay the legal fees of any Epstein survivors willing to come forward and name their perpetrators. His statement came after Epstein survivors had released a Super Bowl advertisement demanding justice from the Trump administration.

Separately, Rep. Thomas Massie has again threatened to publicly reveal Epstein’s client names if the Department of Justice stonewalls release. He also plans to view the unredacted files and has been asking people on X which files he should look into.
US Politics
Democratic leaders continue to oppose the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act despite polls indicating 71 percent of Democrats, 76 percent of Black voters, 82 percent of Latino voters, and 83 percent of US adults support voter ID requirements. Rep. Jamie Raskin argued the bill could violate the 19th Amendment by complicating voting for women who changed names after marriage, requiring affidavits to match IDs. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer called it “Jim Crow 2.0,” claiming it suppresses votes from people of color, women with name changes, and those without birth certificates. The Act allows proofs of citizenship including REAL ID, passports, military records, or birth certificates with photo ID, and provides state-supplied attestations. President Trump endorsed it as the SAVE America Act, calling for ID, citizenship proof for registration, and limits on mail-in ballots. Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) stated that requiring ID to vote is “not unreasonable” and has reportedly decided to support vote in favor of the Act.
Negotiations over Department of Homeland Security funding, due by February 13, involve Republican demands for the SAVE Act and sanctuary city restrictions alongside Democratic proposals for ICE and CBP reforms. Democrats seek judicial warrants for home arrests, body cameras, bans on facial recognition and masks, use-of-force standards, and anti-profiling measures following incidents with protesters. Republicans have tied the funding to election integrity measures amid reported broad voter support for photo ID. Failure to agree could lead to a shutdown, with some considering bypassing the filibuster using a simple majority.
In other news, an 18-year-old from Indianapolis faces a level 6 felony intimidation charge after posting Instagram threats to enter Center Grove High School with an AR-15 and kill everyone inside. The threats targeted students planning a walkout in support of ICE enforcement, countering an anti-ICE protest. Police traced the account, executed a warrant, and took Adrian Abundio-Valente into custody. The walkouts proceeded peacefully for about 20 minutes amid heightened security.
Technology
Elon Musk confirmed reports that SpaceX is prioritizing Moon missions over an initial Mars focus. In a post on X, Musk stated it is time to return to the Moon at scale, aligning with a Wall Street Journal report on plans for a Starship launch in March 2027. The shift follows SpaceX’s acquisition of Musk’s xAI, which valued the combined entity at $1.25 trillion and enables space-based data centers powered by solar energy. Musk stated that low-cost access to space makes orbital AI infrastructure the most scalable option within 36 months.
Boston Dynamics released footage of its Atlas humanoid robot performing a cartwheel and backflip at the Robotics & AI Institute facility. Owned by Hyundai Motor Group, the company described the demonstration as a final test of full-body control and mobility before shifting to enterprise applications. Developers including Boston Dynamics, Agility Robotics, and Figure AI have stated they will not weaponize their robots, though concerns have been raised about dual-use potential when paired with advanced AI. A U.S. government contract reportedly limits Boston Dynamics to non-offensive roles such as warehouses and bomb squads.
Relatedly, Chinese robotics firms have advanced humanoid “brains” for industrial use. Dobot’s Dobot-VLA vision-language-action model enables its Atom robot to handle ambiguous tasks autonomously. UBTech open-sourced its Thinker multimodal model, which achieved 99.9 percent accuracy on factory tasks like sorting with the Walker S2 robot. The developments focus on real-world adaptation for manufacturing.
Geopolitics
Flight tracking data shows at least 112 US Air Force C-17 Globemaster aircraft arriving or en route to the Middle East, plus 17-18 more flights and Royal Air Force logistics movements to Cyprus. The transports can carry over 170,000 pounds on short runways with intercontinental range. The deployments coincide with indirect US-Iran talks mediated by Oman over Tehran’s ballistic missile program. Iran’s foreign minister questioned US seriousness, citing the movements, and warned of targeting regional American bases if attacked. Some analysts attributed part of the activity to routine logistics, including support for Vice President Vance’s visit to Armenia and Azerbaijan.
On this side of the Atlantic, Canada opened a consulate in Greenland’s capital Nuuk, with Foreign Minister Anita Anand reaffirming support for Danish sovereignty. France established the first EU consulate general there a day earlier, with Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot echoing territorial integrity commitments. The moves follow President Trump’s renewed push to acquire the island, citing Russian and Chinese threats. Denmark, Russia, and EU officials have dismissed those threats. Denmark recently held a military exercise with contingents from Germany, France, Sweden, Norway, and the UK.
Health
A Florida Department of Health study detected elevated glyphosate levels in popular breads as part of the Healthy Florida First initiative. Sara Lee honey wheat bread showed 191.04 parts per billion, Nature’s Own butter bread 190.23 ppb, Wonder Bread classic white 173.19 ppb, and Nature’s Own perfectly crafted white 132.34 ppb. Dave’s Killer Bread products had lower levels at 11.85 ppb and 10.38 ppb, while some Sara Lee and Pepperidge Farm samples were below detection limits. First Lady Casey DeSantis noted glyphosate, the main ingredient in Roundup, is designed to kill plants and not for consumption. Surgeon General Dr. Joseph Ladapo stated no safe exposure level exists. Studies have linked the herbicide to cancer, autism, obesity, reproductive issues, metabolic changes, and heritable effects at low doses. All detected levels remained below the EPA’s 30 ppm tolerance limit for wheat.
In other health news, Mike Tyson aired a MAHA Super Bowl advertisement advocating eating whole foods.
The most important fight of my life isn’t in the ring. I’m not fighting for a belt. I’m fighting for our health. Processed foods are killing us. We have been lied to and we need to eat real food again. pic.twitter.com/vnxHoCqHTJ
