In this episode, Evie and I dove deep into some heavy topics, starting with the concept of NPCs (Non-Player Characters) in the context of the coming hard times. We discussed how people’s behavior during the relatively minor crisis of the COVID-19 pandemic has left many of us with a sense of pre-PTSD, fearing how they might react in truly dire situations.

We talked about a recent meeting where several attendees expressed their inability to move past the way their neighbors acted during the lockdown, highlighting a breakdown in trust that’s hard to repair. This led us into a broader discussion on the fragility of our current societal structure, especially with looming economic challenges, AI job displacement, and potential political manipulations.

I shared my concerns about the Federal Reserve’s political leanings and how they might influence economic stability, especially in an election year. We also touched on historical events like 9/11, which for me was a pivotal moment in questioning official narratives, particularly around Building 7’s collapse.

We then explored the darker aspects of human nature, discussing how desperation can lead to unthinkable acts, referencing historical famines and the psychological impacts they have on individuals and societies. This brought us to reflect on our own preparations for potential future crises, emphasizing the importance of resilience and self-reliance.

The conversation wasn’t all doom and gloom though. We highlighted the strength and community spirit of groups like the Amish, who rebuilt a mill in just eight days after it burned down, showcasing what’s possible when communities are tight-knit and prepared.
