If Trump bombs Iran, that will not be in the best interests of practically anybody in the world. That will lead to further escalations and, quite conceivably, the closing of the Strait of Hormuz by Iran, leading to spiking oil prices that will crush Western economies.
As with the Iraq “WMD” fiasco, the casus belli for immediate, urgent war entirely consists of unbacked hyperbolic statements, emotional appeals, and no hard evidence at all that Iran is working on a nuclear bomb, let alone close to finishing one.
The MAGA movement is being fractured by Trump’s latest pivot to war, running as he did no America First and “no more wars.”
So the questions emerge: whose interests is he protecting, and why?
Meanwhile, even here at Peak, we see many people commenting who are (again, same as after 10/7) in a highly emotionally charged state, accusing other Peak members of various flavors of national infidelity, and generally not bringing any receipts to the conversation.
So it’s time to remember the basic principles of propaganda:
I see each of those 9 principles being played out at high volume and full intensity today. Israel and the US government are both extremely powerful propagandists, and they have (again) brought out the big guns to this fight.
The US government’s permanent deep state and Israel both want war with Iran, have wanted it for a long time, and don’t care if they break the world economy and MAGA movement along the way.
