Question from Susan:
Thinking about my preps and getting stuck in two places off the top.
I’ve checked scenarios using Nukemap 6 and can see that fallout could be an issue if Portland, Seattle or Vancouver are hit. Prevailing winds come this way. The question: even if we manage to protect ourselves after the blast, how will we ever be safe to work/live outside? From this 2, I see that half-lives of some radioactive elements are measured in decades, or multiples thereof.
Second question: our community water system is gravity feed from a creek. Surface water. Any advice on how to deal with this both for drinking and later, gardening? I can’t store enough for more than weeks at best.
Question from Mcutburth:
First off, thank you, I have been a subscriber for over 2 years now. Perhaps you have been explicit about this and I have missed it but you will often use the word “they”. I am most often confused who you are referring to when you use it and I would certainly benefit from knowing who you are referring to when you use it. In a time when the divide between people seems to be going exponential as well it seems to me that using the word “they” without clarification can be a contributor to that divide.
Thanks again for all you and your team’s hard work.
