Chris and Charles begin by building on Charles' recent report on Greece, in light of the evolving situation there. It seems quite clear to both that the nation of Greece is now officially a serfdom, sentenced to decades of poverty and hard labor, all in the pursuit of repaying its lenders back in full.
Indeed, many see this not as an edge case within our modern financial system, but as a goal. The banks create money from nothing, lend it out, and if the borrower hits tough times, they seize his collateral assets — no matter if the borrower is an individual or a sovereign nation.
