Chris and Charles spend this week's Off The Cuff sharing concerns that the political power merchants are marching us headfirst in confrontations that play to their interests, but not the nations. Chris is particularly worried about the sudden ramp-up in escalations with Russia, which seems both reckless and unwarranted. Both Chris and Charles identify the root issue at this point is one of excessive elite privilege; where those with position and influence are grabbing as much as they can today, irregardless of the long-term ramifications:

I am worried, Charles, because the relations I see between Russia and the United States are breaking down. They are breaking down for things that make no sense to me.

Have you ever had a friend, somebody you know or maybe an associate or your family member but somebody you know who is just so narcissistically self enveloped that their version of reality and yours you just don’t share the same reality. Like you both experience the same event and you are like yea, your interpretation and mine are just so different.
