This is not a value statement, indicating that we’re somehow above others, but instead that we have a special obligation at this moment in time to preserve both tradition and capital when both are being destroyed.

Someone has to have something of value to offer their children (or grandchildren) and/or their local community when all the value destruction is over.
That is “the remnant.” That is who I see myself as being among, perhaps you do as well. It’s not a high-status or fun place to be, but it’s among the most important.
Society is increasingly fractured along algorithmic silos; people now live in entirely different perceptual realities, making rational, fact-based discourse on such things as vaccines, ballistics, economics, energy, or almost anything else that is ‘reality-based’ nearly impossible.
How did we get here? How do we get out?
The answer is, “we” don’t. At least the collective “we.” By definition, most people will get fleeced by the implosions (and then inflationary explosion) of the current bubbles. But individual results will vary, and those people are my target market.
