‘Doing Nothing’ Is No Longer An Option

Because the all-too-human tendency is to do nothing when a future risk is not immediately visible and threatening, the ‘safest’ bet here is that most folks will be caught completely unprepared by the next crisis.

The safest bet is to assume that business as usual will prevail, and that humans will just generally keep pretending as if everything will remain fine right up to the moment when that’s just no longer true.

Which is why you have to become the change you wish to see.

It’s both that simple and that hard.

You cannot wait any longer for the world to change first so you can feel okay about changing too.  You must become resilient for yourself, your loved ones, your community and then the world.

Everyone is waiting for the right models to follow and, like it or not, you are that model.  When people see you living in ways that increase abundance in the world, they will do it too.  When they see you being happier and healthier for living a life filled with purpose, they’ll want to do it too.

When you save money, eat healthier, and live in collaboration with nature — and therefore  are less prone to economic and energy shocks — others will want to do this too.

We need to move from the narrative of being victims to the story of being our own heroes.  We create our world, for better or worse, with every action we take and every thought we have.

Hmmm, Aqua Mira — not available in Australia as far as I can see. Might be an equivalent under another name. Must look for it.
