This excellent Off The Cuff was recorded last week, but we haven't had time to release it until now. It is just as germane this week as it was last, and it focuses on the swift collapse we're seeing across global markets.
If 2016 ends up avoiding recession, it will be a major miracle. Data across the globe is worsening fast, and the collapse in the price of oil is building up for a tremendous clearing event of the over-leveraged energy sector. The fallout from that is going to be massive. Not just will a number of companies go bankrupt, job losses will ripple across the industries dependent on the 'shale miracle' and the banks backing these companies will be in a world of pain.
If our prior warnings to build cash and hedge any open market positions have not been heeded yet, this may be your final warning.
