US Politics

President Donald Trump announced that individuals who report voter fraud leading to arrest and conviction will receive $1 million, covering the 2026 midterms or any election. The New York Times reported that the White House did not respond to questions about the source of the funds or how reports should be submitted.

Separately, the Supreme Court allowed New Hampshire to bar student IDs as proof of identity at the midterm polls. An unsigned October 22 opinion cited the Purcell principle against last-minute changes to election rules. Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson dissented. HB 323 forbids student IDs, and the secretary of state directed clerks not to accept them. The district court had required treating them as backup identification 32 days before the election, but the justices stayed that order. The state’s attorney general called the outcome a victory for election integrity. Challengers criticized the decision and pledged to keep litigating. The stay holds through November 3.

Next, Patrick Byrne said a judge dismissed Eric Coomer’s libel case against him on summary judgment after discovery. Byrne had stated that Dominion’s equipment rigs elections. He reported that the judge found he told the truth, ending the suit before the scheduled trial. Byrne praised his lawyers Peter Ticktin and Stefanie Lambert. Other reports of U.S. District Judge Tom Barber’s order stated that Coomer had not proven actual malice by clear and convincing evidence and that the court did not rule on the truth of the underlying claims.

In other news, War Secretary Pete Hegseth swore Air Force Brig. Gen. Melissa Cunningham into the Air Force. She retired in 2022 rather than take the COVID-19 vaccine. Hegseth commended her courage and conscience. Cunningham thanked Trump and Hegseth for restoring such personnel. More than 8,000 service members were discharged over the mandate, and 608 have rejoined.

In the latest example of “go woke go broke,” video game developer BioWare announced its closure after 30 years, laying off its remaining 50 employees from a historical peak of around 500. Beginning around 2016, the company reportedly increased its emphasis on woke themes. Critics describe its final title, Dragon Age: Veilguard, as one of the most “ridiculously homosexual games ever produced”. The Veilguard project cost roughly $250 million over nine years and generated estimated sales under $50 million.

Health

The Moffitt Cancer Center is conducting state-funded research into the potential of repurposing ivermectin for KEAP1/NRF2-mutant non-small cell lung cancer. This suggests that repurposed drugs may be receiving more attention in the oncology space.

Separately, the new Vaccinology Immunology Center protocol is now being written, including child eligibility. Enrollment of adults and children is slated before the end of the year to explore immunological reasons for post-vaccine symptoms from any shot. Participants will be referred locally for treatment. The NIH Clinical Center recruitment line is open for inquiries.

The Texas Children’s Hospital opened the first U.S. detransition clinic, as required by its settlement with Attorney General Ken Paxton. Patients through age 21 can receive care to reverse or treat effects of gender-transition procedures, with further services available later. The $10 million deal settled Medicaid billing claims, ended privileges for several physicians, and changed bylaws. The hospital covers all costs for five years and must advertise the clinic. LGBTQ+ advocates said the clinic was created under political pressure and amounted to a resource no one had requested.

On the nutritional front, over 250 hospitals pledged healthier meals under a program announced by Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. They will limit processed foods, sweet drinks, frying, refined grains, processed meat, and additives. Kennedy said food is part of care and asked every hospital to sign on. Early sites note higher satisfaction and patients who reduced medications. Suppliers are increasing real-food supplies.

On the latest Bill Gates news, Dutch plaintiffs pursuing Bill Gates, Albert Bourla, Mark Rutte and the state had their case heard on the merits. Their lawyer told the court the injections were lethal biological weapons spread by deception. Two plaintiffs have died. Jurisdiction was established earlier. Defendants deny liability and repeat that the shots are safe and effective. A ruling is not expected before December 9.

Artificial Intelligence

Amazon canceled its Loudoun County data center project after spending $427 million on the 122-acre site. Facing opposition, it will convert the land to housing and mixed use, donate 25 acres plus $5 million, and promise no servers. Plans had called for more than 800,000 square feet. The county already draws 39 percent of taxes from 233 data centers and chose community amenities. Local pushback is now a major factor for AI infrastructure even in Data Center Alley. Local officials have noted that data-center tax revenue funds a large share of the county budget, supporting schools and helping keep property taxes lower.

British Politics

Britain ordered an independent review of the killing of 18-year-old Henry Nowak, headed by former Lord Chancellor Alex Chalk. Officers handcuffed the stabbed student, accepted the attacker’s account of slurs (later described as false), and needed eight minutes to identify the wounds. One officer told Nowak he did not believe he had been stabbed. Police apologized for the cuffs. The attacker was not restrained. The review will cover missed warnings over five years and the scene response, reporting by March 2027. The family supported the inquiry while faulting how they were treated. The Independent Office for Police Conduct advised that two officers are under investigation for potential gross misconduct over the response.
