Trump Ready To Walk Away
Trump really is out of time and out of options. The key now is to find something, anything, that he seize as a reason to end the war, declare victory, and walk away.


That’s a tall order, however. Iran is fully aware that it is holding all the cards at the moment. From the same WSJ article as above, here’s Iran turning the screws:
Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, said the U.S. would need to permanently end the war, lift its naval blockade, withdraw its forces, end all sanctions, free Iran’s frozen assets, pay war reparations, end threats and insults, and stop military action against Iran’s militia allies around the region before Iran would open the strait, according to a report on state news agency IRNA.
Iran has responded by installing a true hardliner Mohsen Rezaei, who promises immediate action against US forces:

For its part, Israel has declared it isn’t happy with this turn of events and that it reserves the right to strike Iran at any time for its own reasons:

I fully expect Israel to strike Iran, and hitting some unacceptable targets too, in an attempt to drag the U.S. back
