Peak Context: Having Easy Conversations About Hard Things

placeholder

Chris was joined by community members Tom (@thc0655) and Will (@Rector) for our first edition of Peak Context, a Zoom call exclusively for Key Supporters where we have easy conversations about hard things. This month, we discussed how these longtime Peak gentlemen arrived at their strong certainty about the direction of the world and the value of their preparations, exploring Tom’s hypervigilance shaped by a challenging childhood and police work in South Philadelphia, and Will’s journey sparked by the Crash Course and a constellation of unfolding crises like economic collapse, energy shocks, wars in Ukraine and Iran, and erosion of trust.

The conversation covered second-order effects that point to similar practical steps — gardening, moving to lower-density areas, building resilience in food, water, and energy — while touching on hypervigilance versus denial, the spiritual dimension of current events, why preparations improve life even if timelines shift, and candid advice on real estate moves, family preparedness, gold as insurance, and staying two steps ahead without overreacting.

If you missed the live call, you can catch the entire replay below. Otherwise, we hope to see you next time!

Awesome conversation. Both Rector and Tom are exceptionally well informed and articulate. Chris skillfully leads them into talking about the most important stuff.
