In this week's Off the Cuff podcast, Chris and Charles Hugh Smith discuss:
- Bankers Behaving Badly
- Fraud should be expected when there's no punishment for it
- Rudderless Leadership
- It's no wonder voters are 'throwing the bums out'
- The Japan Time-Bomb
- Guaranteed to blow up the global economy. But when?
- 2015: The Year Of Return To Global Recession
- Charles and Chris make the call
Rampant fraud in the financial system. Absent regulators. Ineffectual — or worse, incompetent — leadership. Desperate central planners.
All the above creates a simmering stew of dysfunction which Chris and Charles estimate is close to its boil-over point. In this week's Off The Cuff podcast, they discuss the latest rash of banker misdeeds and the woefully tiny wrist-slaps they incur (if any at all). Those in power take increasingly more from those that aren't, and our elected leaders are too stupid, blind — or both — to do anything about it.
It's no wonder incumbents lost so largely in last week's elections. Even if the public can't articulate why it's so frustrated, people have reached the emotional level where "throw the bums out" feels the best option they have at the voting booth.
