This week saw several positive advancements of the MAHA agenda spanning causes and treatment of autism, questioning the vaccine schedule, further legalization of ivermectin, and hope that major food companies may start promoting regenerative agriculture. We also saw positive advancements towards election integrity, executive jurisdiction, and the indictment of former FBI Director James Comey.

Please help contribute good news to the Daily Digest throughout the week and we’ll be sure to consider it for the Friday report.

Health

President Trump, alongside health officials including Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and FDA Commissioner Marty Makary, announced a federal reform plan addressing autism, focusing on environmental factors, personalized vaccine schedules, and updated drug labeling for acetaminophen, as well as research into treatments like leucovorin for autistic children, according to White House statements. Trump has also publicly questioned the current childhood vaccine schedule, citing concerns over rising autism rates and suggesting spaced-out, single-disease shots, as reported by various media sources. The American Academy of Pediatrics, however, has reiterated that no scientific evidence links vaccines to autism, warning against misinformation.

Meanwhile, the FDA is now considering an independent review of DNA contamination in COVID-19 vaccines following reports of higher-than-permitted levels and biodistribution concerns, indicating a potential move toward greater transparency, per agency updates. Conversely, Reuters reports that the FDA and vaccine manufacturers maintain that residual DNA levels are within safe limits, based on extensive administration data.

In a further development, Texas has become the fifth state to permit over-the-counter access to ivermectin starting December 4, broadening treatment options for residents, according to state health officials. The American Medical Association has expressed concern over potential misuse, emphasizing that ivermectin’s efficacy for unapproved uses remains unproven.

US Politics

The Justice Department has filed lawsuits against six states—California, Michigan, Minnesota, New York, New Hampshire, and Pennsylvania—for not providing voter registration lists, a step intended to ensure compliance with the National Voter Registration Act and Help America Vote Act, according to department statements. State officials, however, have countered that they are already working to maintain accurate voter rolls, with some critics suggesting the lawsuits may be politically motivated, as reported by The New York Times.

Separately, a federal judge ruled on President Trump’s removal of eight inspectors general from agencies such as the Department of Defense, acknowledging a procedural violation of the 30-day notice requirement but declining reinstatement due to a lack of demonstrated irreparable harm, per court documents. Critics, including watchdog groups like American Oversight, argue this decision undermines government oversight and transparency, as noted on social media platforms.

Additionally, former FBI Director James Comey, has been indicted on charges of false statements and obstruction of justice. Following the indictment, Comey released a video statement asserting his innocence and expressing readiness for trial. Some sources, including ABC News, suggest the indictment may be politically motivated, citing a lack of probable cause found by prosecutors.

Environment

A major corporate pledge offers promise for sustainable practices. McDonald’s has committed $200 million to regenerative agriculture through its Grassland Resilience and Conservation Initiative, targeting the restoration of 4 million acres of U.S. rangeland in collaboration with the USDA and beef suppliers. The initiative emphasizes soil health, biodiversity, and water systems, reflecting a growing focus on ecological responsibility, as detailed in the company’s public announcement. Some environmental skeptics, however, question the initiative’s impact given the company’s broader footprint, suggesting it may serve more as public relations than substantive change.
