Kansas City Metro

Kansas City, a small town masquerading as a big city, is uniquely blessed with fertile soil, a generous growing season, access to key inland waterways (the Kansas and Missouri rivers), and most importanrtly, an innovative, good-natured, hard-working population. The seeds for transition to a reduced-energy future have already been sown through the Made-in-KC movement, local food movement, and numerous community gardens and farmers' markets.

Though much of the arduous task of reversing ingrained habits and upending cultural norms to build a resilient life lies ahead, the journey can be pleasurable in community of friends who share their grit, creativity, and resources to build a prosperous life together.

Peakprosperity Northeast Iowa

The goal of this group is to increase local and regional resilience and environmental stewardship in the tri-State area (northeastern Iowa, southeastern Minnesota, western Wisconsin).

Starting 9 March 2019, monthly meetings will take place at the Peace & Justice Center (https://neipjc.org/) at 5:30 pm central time. Meetings will run for a maximum of one hour.

Agenda:

At our first meeting, we will
-->watch some of The Crash Course videos to prepare us to read the corresponding sections of The Crash Course book; it will be the goal, then, to read those sections of The Crash Course book before the second meeting;
-->discuss what we see and hear in the videos;
-->discuss progress toward increased resilience (https://www.peakprosperity.com/page/what-should-i-do); a good starting place for this would be Step 0 (zero), but we could talk about other steps, too.
-->Discuss ecophilosophy and/or ecophilosophy reading(s)

At meetings following the first one on 9 March 2019, we will
-->discuss the sections of The Crash Course book "assigned" at the previous meeting;
-->watch some of The Crash Course videos to prepare us to read the corresponding sections of The Crash Course book; it will be the goal, then, to read those sections of The Crash Course book before the next meeting;
-->discuss what we see and hear in the videos;
-->discuss progress toward increased resilience (https://www.peakprosperity.com/page/what-should-i-do);
-->Discuss ecophilosophy and/or ecophilosophy reading(s)

Potentially, as part of the program for later meetings, we will read "Prosper!: How To Prepare For The Future And Create A World Worth Inheriting", https://www.peakprosperity.com/our-books

Maximum meeting time will be one hour. We anticipate 30 min of peakprosperity and 30 min of ecophilosophy.

A person can jump in on the discussion at anytime. Attending the first or any other particular meeting is not a requirement.

See https://decorahnow.com/event/peak-prosperity-and-ecophilosophy-discussion-group/ for additional information.
